SCHERRER UPDATE

As many of you already know, most of the Scherrer family is heading back to Ireland in the fall.  Alaura has chosen to stay in the States to attend Frontier School of the Bible in LaGrange, Wyoming.  She is very excited about this new adventure in her life.

The rest of us will fly out on Sept. 1 for Ohio and possibly Michigan.  We will be there until the 15th and will then continue on to Ireland.  While in Ireland we will be staying and working at Drewstown House where Matt grew up.  For those of you who may not know, Drewstown House is located in the Rep. of Ireland and over the years has changed from a Georgian Manor house, to orphanage, to boarding school and is now a Christian Camp and Conference Centre.  Over time, the roof has decayed causing water damage to the inside of the house.  They are currently not able to operate at full capacity due to the condition of the building.  Now that the roof has recently been repaired, renovation of the inside can begin.

We are excited to have a work team from our church here at Glacierview join us during the latter part of September for a few weeks to help with the work.

There are opportunities for you to be involved if God lays this desire on your hearts.  First, please be in prayer for the work there and for us as we make preparations.  Also, there are openings for individuals, couples or work teams to come over and share in the work.  Please let us know if you are interested in this possibility.  Financially, Drewstown House has never fundraised for money, but has walked in faith that God would provide. If you would like to contribute financially to help support the ministry and to provide supplies for renovation projects checks can be made out to Drewstown House Trust and we will send it on to Ireland.

Greetings from snowy Alaska.  This is just a quick blog to inform everyone of our latest news.  Yesterday morning, Carole, Alaura and Karina were in a major car crash on the way to Anchorage.  Carole hit a patch of black ice and skidded out of control.  The Expedition hit the burm, which was frozen ice, and flipped and rolled into the median.  Windows were shattered and the roof was partially caved in above Carole's head.  The truck did not land on the side the girls were sitting on so they are okay except for some bruises and stiff muscles.  Carole suffered a fracture of the C1 vertebrae and is in a soft neck brace for the next 4-6 weeks and is experiencing some pain.  The vehicle, needless to say, was totaled.  We are so very thankful that the injuries were not more serious than they were.  The next 4-6 weeks will be a time of adjustment, but we know it could have been a lot worse.  We are surrounded by a supportive community and will be provided with meals for a while.  We would appreciate your prayers during this time.
