Lost in the Bog

Today was a rather eventful day.  We took a much longer walk through the bog than we intended.  What was supposed to be a simple, 1 1/2 hour walk turned into a 3 hour marathon.  Somehow, we managed to get on cow paths and farmer's back lanes.  Everywhere but the bog path.  After much navigating, we ended up on the right trail and proceeded back to the flat for some much needed drinking chocolate and a quiet afternoon of laundry and school work.  Despite the difficulties, it was still a delightful walk.  Girley Bog is where Matt and his family used to cut peat to burn at Drewstown House.  It is now a reclaimed bog and is in several different stages of growth.  Very different than the rolling hills.
Have a wonderful Thursday!
